Ph.D. Student

Christina Ippoliti is a Ph.D. candidate in the Biological Sciences: Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her current research includes working to understand the molecular mechanisms of how plants create seed and fruit by studying these processes in a wild strawberry, Fragaria vesca. She also works on understanding how plants respond gravity and how it informs how they shape their root systems. Through her research, she aims to contribute to helping people grow plants for food, architecture, and other products in greater harmony with nature. Her research interests lie at the intersection of molecular biology and regenerative agriculture.
