Yuxing Li

UMB Microbiology & Immunology and IBBR Professor

Dr. Yuxing Li’s lab studies how B cells, a critical part of the immune system, respond to viral infection, and applies these findings toward antibody discovery and the development of vaccines and therapeutics to treat viral infections.

Dr. Yuxing Li obtained her Ph.D. in Genetics from Iowa State University. She completed postdoctoral training under the supervision of Dr. Susan Carpenter at Iowa State University, where she studied lentivirus pathogenesis and persistence. She then joined Dr. Richard T. Wyatt’s laboratory at the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), NIAID/NIH, initially as a research fellow and subsequently as a staff scientist. In 2010, Dr. Li joined the IAVI Neutralizing Antibody Center at The Scripps Research Institute as an Assistant Professor of Immunology in La Jolla, California. In 2014, she relocated her laboratory to the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR) in Rockville, Maryland, and became affiliated with the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
