Biography

I received my B.A. in biological sciences from Smith College in 2023. I am currently a computational biology and bioinformatics Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland and the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. An overarching theme of my research is to characterize key health-related functions of the gut microbiome. I do this through discovering and examining gut microbial enzymes using comparative genomics and by developing computational tools. While I always work on a computer, I frequently collaborate with experimental biologists to design experiments and verify my predictions.
