I am a graduate student in the Juntti Lab currently interested in understanding the evolution and neuroendocrine mechanisms of social behavior using cichlid fish as a model. Previously, I completed my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Princeton University and worked with Dr. Annegret Falkner on uncovering brain regions responsible for proactive aggression. Following that, I worked as a research assistant at Columbia University's Mortimer B. Zuckerman Institute with Dr. Carol Mason and Dr. Jane Dodd on developmental neurogenesis in the retina (using an albinism model) and the spinal cord.
I am broadly interested in understanding how neural circuits for social behavior have evolved over time and across species and the mechanisms that specify those changes!"
